Learning Log 15 (Dec 5 - 9)

ALL TOGETHER

SCIENCE:
We went to the airplane museum and learned about airplanes.  We learned about the fastest jets, and a little of the history of the airplanes there.

HISTORY:
We continued our story in history with the Greeks.  We learned about the Minoans, the Myceneans, and the barbarians of ancient Greece, who took over.

ASL:
We learned or reviewed about 15 signs that have to do with around the house, and animals.

PE:
Weather was too crazy for horseback riding lessons.  We played in the snow a lot this week, sledding and shoveling snow.

In our spare time the girls cross-stitched.

This week we also learned about St Nicholas and did a service project in his honor.
We also did puzzles together.

KEIRA

 MATH:
Keira read chapters out of her Life of Fred textbook, as well as working on times tables.  She's reviewing what she's learned before, and is feeling good about the numbers up to the 7s.  We played games together reviewing times tables.

ELA:
We started reading Fablehaven together this week.  She needs a little push to get into larger chapter books because they intimidate her, so I'm starting it with her until she gets hooked.  She also did some lessons from Reading Eggspress.

GARRETT

MATH:
Garrett worked on times tables all week this week.  He memorized facts, and then played games and read books about times tables.  He's really enjoying it!  He's the one leading on this one.

ELA:
Garrett is thoroughly involved in his book, Jedi Academy, and read it every day this week.  He's about 3/4 the way through it.  His reading is getting better and better!

LIBBY

MATH:
Libby worked on forming numbers correctly with worksheets this week, in addition to her worksheets on addition facts.  She also did a few chapters in Life of Fred this week as well, and Math Seeds.

ELA:
This week Libby was on a roll with Reading Eggs.  She did that nearly every day. We also read books together.

William did fun games to learn number sense this week.  He wanted to play it over and over and over again!
