Math
KEIRA finished up learning about basic factoring, and moved on to Greatest Common Factors.
GARRETT looked for patterns in multiplication problems, and taught the basics of multiplication to show his understanding of the concept.
LIBBY worked on long addition this week, adding numbers up to 7 digits long.
WILLIAM did many lessons on Math Seeds. He's cruising through that program!
ELA (English Language Arts)
KEIRA continued reading Spirit Animals, and her scriptures this week.
GARRETT read from his 5 Minute Star Wars book, and his scriptures.
LIBBY rediscovered our Reading Rainbow app, and spent many hours listening to books from that.
WILLIAM also rediscovered the Reading Rainbow app, and had fun picking out books to listen to.
The kids finished up their studies on the countries they chose this year for Geography. Keira finished learning about China, Garrett finished learning about Japan, Libby finished learning about India, and William finished learning about South Korea. They have learned a lot, and gained an appreciation for those countries.
In addition to that we had another activity to go along with the Kaya books. In the last book we read about the Nimiipuu Indians, they spent a lot of time on the river in their canoes fishing. So, we spent an afternoon with friends on the dam near our house in Kayaks. We paddled around and pointed out wild life, and talked about what it would have been like to be Kaya, using her canoe all the time. When we weren't paddling around, we did another Art activity from the book. In the book they talked about how they painted geometric designs on buffalo hide, so we painted similar designs on cloth.

| Some sort of animal was eating on the side of the dam. |

On Wednesday we had Piano lessons, and then we went to watch Keira play her violin in the school orchestra. (She is on the back row, with the headband on.)
Finally, we took a little nature walk up Logan Canyon, to a neat little nature center built for kids. It's a log cabin with learning centers inside that tell you about the wildlife found in the area. It was a pretty walk, but exhausted me! :P The kids enjoyed it, though.
