Week 2, and it's going well!
We started every morning out with personal scripture study, devotional (where we shared what we learned during our personal scripture study), and working on our memorization together. This week we started a poem by Edgar Guest, called, Character. We will work on a bit at a time each week, since it's a longer memorization.
Following our devotional I read a chapter from our family read aloud, Little Britches. While I read Garrett and Libby did word searches, Keira cross-stitched and William built with blocks. While I read I would stop periodically to explain a word, elaborate on a life style described in the book, or answer questions. After I read, we discussed lessons that could be learned from each chapter.
KEIRA is starting out her Enterpreneur class by brushing up on some basic sewing skills. We ordered a book that teaches her how to create her own cross-stitch people, so that is what she was working on while I read.
We still haven't started our ASL classes, so there was no ASL done this week.
We learned a bit about the foot this week, for Science. I broke my foot and sprained my ankle this summer, and have been going to physical therapy, so I explained to them a bit about how that happened, why our tendons, ligaments, and bones help us walk, and how physical therapy helps those things heal.
Here are some things each kid did on their own this week:
KEIRA
Math: Keira worked on review worksheets all this week. Each day she did a worksheet on a previously learned subject for math, to refresh her memory on math concepts.
ELA: Keira started her The Good and The Beautiful grammar workbook this week. She also worked on creative writing, typing, and read from Carry On Mr Bowdich.
Piano: Keira had a piano lesson, and practiced each day.
Violin: Lessons haven't started for violin yet, but she met with her teacher and got all set up.
GARRETT
Math: Garrett also did review worksheets this week to refresh his memory on things he's learned in the past. Every day was a new concept and a new review worksheet.
ELA: Garrett started his own workbook in The Good and The Beautiful grammar, worked on creative writing, typing, and read from Wayside Stories.
Piano: On Wednesday he had a piano lesson, and practiced each day.
Tech: Legos came in the mail this week for Garrett's tech class, and he got to work building a seasons-changing kit.
LIBBY
LIBBY
Math: Libby worked on review worksheets for math this week, as well. Every day was a new concept to review from her previous lessons.
ELA: Libby worked on grammar from The Good and The Beautiful, and she also worked on creative writing, typing, and reading from Reading Rainbow books.
Piano: On Wednesday she had a piano lesson, and practiced each day.

Piano: On Wednesday she had a piano lesson, and practiced each day.
Tech: Libby learned how to use her camera this week, and practiced using it in the most basic way.
Math: William didn't need review worksheets, so we just jumped in on what we'll be learning this year. He did a placement test on Math Seeds, learned what base ten counting was while playing restaurant, and started to learn how to tell time.
ELA: William learned about "ou" words with The Good and The Beautiful workbook, started to learn how to type, and read some books with me.
Tech: Will go to work on his Legos for his tech class. He started working on a very difficult bat mobile project.
And that was that. Our week, in a nutshell.
