The kids passed off the poem that they've been memorizing, "Kind Deeds", and we chose a new memorization. We'll be memorizing James 1:5, so we discussed that scripture a bit.
We also learned some more signs, and are trying to remember to practice with each other more. We have enough vocab now, but remembering to practice with each other is goign to be the key to cementing it in.
Math
KEIRA did great with our curriculum this week. She learned how to spot and identify patterns in addition, and created some theorems about each set, and did some logic puzzles with patterns.
GARRETT also did great with math this week. He did a few chapters out of the curriculum on addition patterns, and some logic puzzles to really set the idea in there.
LIBBY tested her addition hypothesis this week, and then looked for short cuts in addition and writing theorems for those numbers.
WILLIAM played a game based on matching quantities with numbers, and did a long activity of creating cards with the numbers on them, and putting the right amount on the page. He loved both activities!
ELA (English Language Arts)
KEIRA read more out of her "I Survived..." series, and finished the "I Survived the Battle of Gettysburg" book. She also did some handwriting practice, and a chapter out of her ELA book.
GARRETT read out of a "reader" book this week, reading different short stories. He also practiced his handwriting, and did a chapter out of the ELA workbook.
LIBBY did handwriting practice and a chapter out of her ELA workbook, in addition to reading library books and doing some lessons in Reading Eggs.
WILLIAM did handwriting practice this week, and a chapter out of his ELA workbook.
Art
KEIRA worked on her Art program this week, creating an original character on the software.
LIBBY played around on the program, practicing her tracing this week. She's pretty precise at tracing.
Libby, Keira, and Garrett practiced and attended Piano lessons this week. Their making continual progress.
PE this week at the co-op was dodgeball. Lots of running around, throwing, and dodging.
