Learning Log #20 (Jan 22nd - 26th)

This was another sick week.  A miserable, sick week with a nasty sinus infection that kept on going on forever... but we managed to get things done here and there.

Math
KEIRA did some division lessons, games on the computer, math card games with siblings, and watched Donald in Mathemagic Land.
GARRETT did some multi-digit addition lessons, some games on the computer, and watched Donald in Mathemagic Land.
LIBBY did some single-digit addition lessons, some games on the computer, and watched Donald in Mathemagic Land.
WILLIAM did some Math Seeds lessons, some number games, some computer games, and watched Donald in Mathemagic Land.
Will, figuring out how to spell number words.
Will, writing his words down during a game with dice.

Will went on a scavenger hunt around the house to try and find numbers, and then lined them up in order from 1-20.

ELA (English Language Arts)
KEIRA read out of Wayside Stories all week, and did some ELA in her creative writing notebook.
GARRETT started reading Jedi Academy again, but this time on his own.  He also started doing cursive worksheets, to learn cursive.
LIBBY read books out of many resources this week.  Online books, books from the library, and Leveled Reader books.
WILLIAM read some Leveled Reader books this week, and read Ten Apples Up On Top a few times.

Our Piano teacher was out of town this week, so we didn't have any lessons, but everyone still practiced every day.  There was lots of playing outside for PE this week, since it snowed and we got fresh snow to play in.

We finished up our history unit this week.  We learned about Constantine and the state of the Christian church after Christ died, and what happened to the apostles.  We also found an interesting series made by BBC, called Horrible Histories, and we had fun watching several of those episodes.

I finished up the week by going to a homeschool conference with my tribe.  It was an inspiring day.  It's so nice to have several families in our neighborhood who also homeschool!  We're becoming good friends.
