Learning Log #27 (Mar 12th - 16th)

Math
KEIRA continued to learn about factoring this week, and did story problems to help her understand it better.
GARRETT started to learn about multiplication this week.  He read a story about why it's useful, and then started doing story problems with manipulatives.
LIBBY is moving on to large numbers of addition. She did story problems and figure out some pretty hard problems!
WILLIAM did a lot of Math Seeds this week.  It was his personal goal to do as many levels as he could.  I think he did about 10 lessons!

ELA (English Language Arts)
KEIRA practiced her cursive handwriting, did a lesson of ELA, and started to read Charlie & the Chocolate Factory.
GARRETT practiced cursive as well, spent a lot of hours writing his own comic book, and continued re-reading Jedi Academy.
LIBBY had a book club again this week for her book, Kaya.  They did activities about the book, and continued to read the next book in the series.  She also did some handwriting worksheets as well.
WILLIAM practiced his handwriting and read more of his Little Leveled book set.

We finished up our Art unit a few weeks ago, and have moved on to Geography.  We learned a little bit about Matthew Maury, what the Geographical terms are, and what the rules are to making maps.

We also did a field trip to a radio station this week.  It wasn't terribly interesting, honestly, but neat to see the behind-the-scenes.
