Learning Log #29 (Mar 26th - 30th)

As usual, we started most days off this week with our devotionals.  Since the upcoming Sunday was Easter, each day our devotional consisted of talking about what events were leading up to Christ's Resurrection that week.

Math
KEIRA took a step back from Factoring this week to brush up on some of the times tables that always give her a hard time.  We did a test to see which ones she needed the most help with and played some games to review.
GARRETT did a review game of the 2s and 5s for times tables.  He's learned them before, but needed a refresher.
LIBBY did some more worksheets and abcya games to help with her multi-digit addition and subtraction skills.
WILLIAM took it easy this week with puzzles and logic games.

ELA (English Language Arts)
KEIRA went to the library this week and collected books to study about China (the country she is learning about for Geography).  When she wasn't reading about China, she read from Charlie and the Glass Elevator.
GARRETT went to the library and collected books to study about Japan (the country he chose to learn about for Geography).  When he wasn't reading about Japan, he was reading from his Jedi Academy book.
LIBBY will be learning about India for Geography, so we went to the library and collected books on it.  When she wasn't reading about India, she was reading picture books we got from the library while we were there.
WILLIAM read and was read to, from picture books from the library this week.

There was a LEGO club at the library this week, so we decided to check it out.  It was for ages 5 and up, so all four of the kids were able to participate.  They talked a little bit about space and then gave them the assignment to make anything that has to do with space out of a bucket of random LEGOs.  This is what they came up with:
Police Space Station

Rocket Launch

Space Station

House on the Moon

We continued to study Asia in Geometry this week, by learning about the climates found in Asia, and then learning about the climates of our individual countries that we've chosen.  This, along with random reading from their books they checked out from the library.
