Learning Log #18-20

Lots of great learning and growing happened during our break, though maybe in unconventional ways, sometimes.  all the kids built many creations with KEVA blocks (math), William spent time putting a wood building kit together, Garrett spent time with his new box of random LEGOs, and they all spent a great deal of time figuring out how machinery works with the IQ Key kit we got for Christmas (math/engineering).

Keira and Libby spent a great deal of time painting with paint by number canvases, and painting with Bob Ross.

They read every day, we occasionally did a read aloud from Cheaper By the Dozen, and they all memorized the Preamble to the Constitution (ELA).

They practiced piano nearly every day, and Keira built a Ukelele from a Eureka crate she received, and they all took turns playing around with it (music).

They got lots of exercise on the treadmill, ice skating, or sledding.

And there was a lot of cooking going on all the time, either from treats being made or from Keira cooking dinner (she is in charge of dinners most nights).

We had a lovely Christmas.  Happy kids and happy parents, and lots of great activities to be done together.  :)
