Learning Log #22 (Jan 13th-17th)

KEIRA
Math - Math was a great mix of lessons and logic study this week.  There were some lessons from Life of Fred, and some logic study from Mastermind, and Tumble Maze. 
ELA - Keira practiced cursive this week, and spent some time defining things from the Constitution.  She also read from The Freedom Factor, and a bit from Fablehaven.
Science - We watched some pretty interesting episodes of Mythbusters this week. 
Tech - Keira spent a good amount of time on her lessons on Minecraft this week.  She took a test about the Boston Tea Party, and started on her project in Minecraft.
Music - Keira's rocking the piano and violin this semester.  She's hit a groove and really knocking them both out of the park.  She practiced every day and had lessons.

GARRETT
Math - Garrett also had a good mix of math lessons and logic this week.  He also did lessons out of Life of Fred, and then played Mastermind, Chess, and did some Gravity Maze and Tumble Maze games.
ELA - He worked on his cursive again this week, and then did a lot of creative writing projects.  He also read from American History Stories, Calvin & Hobbes, and listened to a bit of Peter and the Star Catchers.
Science - We watched some pretty interesting episodes of Mythbusters this week.
Tech - Garrett's loving his Tynker programming course.  He spends a lot of time on it, flying through the lessons.
Music - He's making great progress on the piano.  He's practicing every day and had lessons this week.




LIBBY
Math - Not a great week for math this week for Libby.  She was a bit sick part of the week, and only got some long addition worksheets in.
ELA - Libby was able to do a little handwriting this week, write and read poetry, and enjoyed her typing lessons.  She also read from Rainbow Fairy books, and read books from our Atlas Crate (about countries from around the world).
Social Studies - We learned about Japan this week from her Atlas Crate.  She learned about different festivals, made crafts about the country, and read books about some other countries.
Music - Libby doesn't love piano, but she is definitely loving it more than she has previous years.  She put in a good amount of practicing this week, and had a lesson.

WILLIAM
Math - Will had a good math week.  He did some lessons from Math Seeds, and played Mastermind, and Chess.
ELA - He did lessons from Reading Eggs most of the week, and also started a Little Bear book.  He also worked on his handwriting a few time this week.
Social Studies - Will got to learn about Russia this week!  He finished building the Kremlin, and learned some more about the country.
Tech - For his tech class this week he worked on his Kiwi Crate, and made a marble timer.
Portuguese - He did a review lesson on Mango.com, and watched some shows in Portuguese this week.
