Math: This week we explored math concepts with games such as Mastermind, Monopoly Jr, and finding patterns in math coloring books. We also learned money management skills, finances that are required when buying and selling a house, and learned other math concepts through watching Odd Squad.
English: We started reading Pollyanna together as a family. We discussed grammar, and the moral lessons that can be learned from this book. In addition to this reading Keira did some lessons on Reading Eggspress.
Science: We did some research on horses and goats this week. We learned about how much they cost to buy, what they eat, how to take care of them, and what they are used for. Research came from library books, YouTube videos, speaking to people who own these animals, and documentaries on Netflix.
Fine Arts: We are moving, so we haven't been able to start violin lessons yet, so this week Keira worked on music theory. She listened to a lot of classical pieces, and played games on her phone that teach music theory.
Tech: Keira was so excited to get started on Snap Circuits this week! She really dug in and got a lot of them done! She did all the projects in Basic Components & Circuits (#s 1, 152-53, & 103), and all of the projects in Motors & Electricity (#s 2, 5-6, 80, 262, & 11-14). She's enjoying the concepts very much!
PE: We are moving, so we haven't started gymnastics yet. To get exercise this week Keira rode her bike a lot.

Tech1: Garrett was very, very enthusiastic to get started with his Lego Robotics course this week! He built "Milo the Science Rover", "Milo's Motion Sensor", "Milo's Tilt Sensor", and "Collaborating". His favorite was the motion sensor. It was fun for him to get the robot built and then watch him move forward, detect something, stop, and give out a fun noise.
Tech2: We're off to a slow start with keyboarding. Still figuring things out on the program, and deciding what we think of it.
PE: We are moving, so we haven't started horseback riding lessons yet. To get exercise this week Garrett rode his bike a lot.

Tech: Libby had a hard time getting into her Keyboarding course this week. We're going to need to spend a little more time exploring the program to make sure she's at the right level. It feels too hard for her right now.
World Language: We are learning ASL as a family this year (continuing on from last year). So, this was a review week for sign language. We went over the "100 basic signs" that we learned last year on lifeprint.com. Everyone's remembering things well!
