Learning Log #31 (Mar 18th - 22nd)

For Science this week we learned first aid.  We talked about what we need in a first aid kit, and then acted out a few scenarios and what to do in each scenario to save the day.  Such as cuts, broken bones, unconscious person, choking, and burns.

KEIRA
Math: This week Keira learned about Pythagoras, Paul Erdos, learned about city grid systems, and played Yahtzee, and Clumsy Thief.
ELA:  Keira read from Ramona, The Fallacy Detective, and practiced handwriting.
Sewing: She worked on her baby blanket this week for sewing, and also a bit on her stuffed animals.
Piano: Lessons and practice as usual this week.  She's still working on a 3-piece Sonata, Fur Elise, and Clare de Lune.
Violin: Violin lessons on Tuesday, and practiced or listened to her songs every day.  She has some longer songs that she's been enjoying now.

GARRETT
Math: He read lots of math books this week, and played games to reinforce concepts.  He read Ano's Multiplying Jar, Best of Times, played Clumsy Thief, played Yahtzee, and learned about city grid systems.
ELA: He continued to read from Henry and Beazus, and discussed the chapter with his co-op.  He also wrote in his journal.
Piano: Still working away at his songs.  One of his songs is a pretty long classical piece.  He practices every day, and had lessons on Wednesday.
LEGOs: Garrett took apart some of his 3 in 1 creations this week, and rearranged them into different creations.  He also worked on building a new house.

LIBBY
Math: Libby's been reading in picture books for Math.  She read from Math-terpieces this week, and worked out the problems from that book.  She also learned about Roman Numerals, and played games to use them.  She also played Mastermind with me this week.
ELA: She read and discussed a chapter from Molly Saves the Day with her co-op class.  This in addition to the many books she read from the library, and she also wrote in her journal this week.
Piano: Libby is working on "Do Re Mi" this week, and adding chords to it.  She's also doing more theory work, coloring in notes from a workbook.
Photography: She watched a lesson from The Great Courses this week.  They learned about camera equipment.

WILLIAM
Math: Will did a few lessons from Math Seeds, learned about city grid systems, name values, and read 100 Ants.
ELA: He did a lesson from Reading Eggs this week, a typing lesson, and read a lot of books that he got from the library.
LEGOs: He worked on more building and creations from random LEGOs this week.  He has a creative mind for how things go together.
ASL: We watched an episode of Signing Time this week.  This week's words were all about outside.  He practiced with me, and we sang along with our signs to the songs on the show.
