Learning Log #9 (Oct 14th - 18th)

KEIRA
Math - Did Life of Fred review sheets, and "Mathemagic" section.
ELA - Read "Being George Washington", wrote a response paper for co-op. and did a typing lesson.
Science - Watched a Mythbusters Jr episode about gravity.
Tech - worked on US History Minecraft lesson.  This one was about the pilgrims, and included building a ship and trap doors for secret storage.
Music - piano lessons were cancelled this week, but she still practiced every day and made great progress on several songs.

GARRETT
Math - Did Life of Fred review sheets, and a "Mathemagic" section.
ELA - Read "American History Stories", Charlie & The Chocolate Factory, and did a grammar lesson with The Good & The Beautiful.
Science - Watched a Mythbusters Jr episode about gravity.
Tech - Worked on a lesson programming from Tynker.com.
Music - No lessons this week, but he still practiced every day.




LIBBY
Math - Did a few chapters from Life of Fred, and worked on math from that.
ELA - Worked on comparisons in her creative writing notebook, and read from many different books.
Social Studies - At co-op this week they discussed some culture from the US in the 1700s, and made Apple Butter and Johnnycakes, made straight from that time period.
Tech - Read a lot about the pilgrims in this lesson from US History Minecraft.  Hasn't started the build yet for this lesson.
Music - No lessons this week, but she continued to practice nearly every day.

WILLIAM
Math - Life of Fred chapters this week.
ELA - Read Usborne books, and did a typing lesson.
Social Studies - Opened up the Atlast Crate we got recently, about Morocco.  Learned a bit about that country and learned how to play a game that came from that country.
Tech - Earned a Lego camper set for completely a book goal this week, and spent a few hours putting that together.
Portuguese - Learned some more Portuguese from Mango lessons this week and watched a show in Portuguese to listen to the language.
